This year the Salak Yom Festival at Wat Hariphunchai in Lamphun takes place from September 23 to 29. The Grand Parade will be in the late afternoon of September 28. We organize a special private day trip to Lamphun during the festival that of course includes a visit to Wat Hariphunchai to admire the donation trees. If you are interested in experiencing this unique and amazing festival, please send us an email at info@green-trails.comI took the pictures at Wat Hariphunchai during the festival in 2022. ... Chiang Mai a la Carte
The city of Phayao is not on everyone’s itinerary. You seldom meet Western tourists in this city with the largest freshwater lake in the north of Thailand. This month I visited Phayao for the third time this year and there is still so much to explore, not only in and around the city itself but also in the province. When I am in Phayao I always cycle around the lake aka Kwan Phayao before sunrise. It’s a great ride of about 25km. The Bo Sip Song viewpoint and Wat Huai Pha Kiang with its Buddha images, carved out in rocks, are not far from downtown Phayao and very much worth visiting. I also made the boat trip to Wat Tilok Karam. Watch out for our upcoming Things to Do in Phayao page and Phayao itineraries.#chiangmaialacarte ... See MoreSee Less
