Say it with flowers in Chiang Mai
The Chiang Mai Flower Festival takes place during the first weekend of February at the end of the cool season. In 2022 this will be the weekend of 5 and 6 February. Usually, the opening takes place on the Friday before the weekend. We have good hope that the coming festival will not be canceled. We will keep you updated.
The festival features displays of yellow and white chrysanthemums, and of the Damask Rose, a variety found only in Chiang Mai. The exhibition of the Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2022 will be at Nong Buak Haad Public Park at the southwest corner of the moat. Vendors and garden decorators set up their stalls there and the colorful floats will be on display.
The highlight of the festival is the Flower Parade which takes place on Saturday morning. We will inform you about the exact time. The participants of the parade gather in Charoenmuang Road. The parade crosses the Nawarat Bridge and passes through Thapae road, turns left at Thapae Gate, and follows the moat road to Buak Hat Park.
The parade features beautifully decorated floats, representing districts in Chiang Mai province. Thousands of people participate in this event. There are dancers in magnificent costumes, musical performances and lots of flowers, of course.
