Markets have always been fascinating places. Chiang Mai has many of them, some old and authentic and some new and inspiring. Every city and town in North Thailand has a market and they are always worth a visit. There are fresh food, handicraft, plant and flower, organic food and clothes markets. The better known and most visited market places are Tonlamyai and Warorot close to the Ping River. Markets like Siriwattana, Chiang Mai Gate, Pradtoo Korm, Muang Mai, Mae Hia and Sanpakoy are far less visited and not less interesting. Cream of the crop is the weekly San Patong market that includes a buffalo, cow and oxen market in North Thailand. This is also the biggest open air market in North Thailand. It takes place every Saturday morning and the variety of products for sale is absolutely staggering. If you are interested in visiting market places please let us craft a customized tour for you.
